Why Invest in USF: A Message from Joel Momberg:

As the Senior Vice President of University Advancement and CEO of the USF Foundation, I’m often asked why people should give to the University of South Florida System. After all, they say, aren’t the member institutions of the USF System public universities – why do they need private support?

The answer is quite simple. The member institutions of the USF System – University of South Florida, USF St. Petersburg, USF Sarasota-Manatee and USF Lakeland – all need private support – your support – because the needs of our students and faculty can no longer be met by public support alone.

Your support, and the support of donors like you, makes the difference between a student attending an USF System institution on scholarship or not attending college. But your giving does more than change the lives of thousands of undergraduate students. Your support creates fellowships for graduate students, or faculty chairs and distinguished professorships for our faculty. In this way, you help the USF System add to the universal body of knowledge.

Giving to the USF System also strengthens a powerful economic engine for west central Florida. Groundbreaking research at USF System institutions leads to innovation, new technologies and new ways of doing business. All of these combine to help create the economy of the 21st century – our new century, the one we can build together by giving to the University of South Florida System. When you do so, you’ll help us to be Unstoppable.

Best regards,

Joel D. Momberg
